January 23rd, 2008 by eittocs

It’s ready!  From the beginning to the end, its been real fun doin this video for my brother (http://www.alivenotdead.com/ryanhui).  It was a team effort from the get-go.  Thanks to brotha jun (http://www.alivenotdead.com/junkung) for being such a character.

We combined several ideas while trying to keep the visual part fun, busy, and entertaining.   You’ll have to watch this video several times to see what each person is doing, so I do hope you enjoy it.  Don’t forget to blast the speakers…

Click below to find several versions of the Mv from various sites.

The best for low-res instant stream ideem.com:

By far the best version is on Stage6.com  in full Hi-Definition. Now you can really see all my mistakes and fine some fun details within the video. hahaha.  You need to install a divx web player.  It takes less than a minute and the result is insane.  You can uninstall afterwards.  Here it is:

Thanks to the whole crew.  Thanks to all the friends and fans for supporting.  With a very limited budget I hope I was able to bring some enjoyment with this vid.  So check it out already!

My first MV…

Tuesday, Aug 28, 2007 11:58PM / Standard Entry

I posted an MV featuring Ryan, dad and I a few days ago.  If you haven’t watched it, check it out, but try not to cringe too much. hahaha.  The video was a lot of fun to do.

Do I really look like a monkey on coke like the papers said? I guess I kinda do.  Hey, if I’m gonna film on a hot afternoon I might as well make the day enjoyable.

Kentucky Fried Crackhead

August 19th, 2007 by eittocs

Aside from trying the kentucky fried chicken black pepper flavor, I watched this the other day and couldn’t stop laughing.  This is why you don’t do drugs.  If I have my camera rollin’ and your high, I’ll probably start to interview you like this.

http://www.dumpalink.com/videos/Kentucky_fried_crackhead-22ke.html

Crack is Whack!

Then I saw this video of a huge indoor pool filled with people in Japan.  I couldn’t stop thinking about the amount of pee and poo floating around…and some little pervert grabbing boobs and ass.

This is our OOL.  Notice there is no P.   Please keep it that way.

This last week has been pretty uneventful.  I had my carpeting in my apartement ripped away to replace with tiles for Mario (my bulldog),  He seems to love it.  It’s so bright an echoe-y inside.  I’m still working on Ryan’s diary.  Too many tapes to go through and upload.  Hopefully this week i’ll be done.

I heard my dad’s song with Ryan and I  is up now on roadshow.  Has anybody seen it?  I have a different version so I can’t upload it until I get the final copy.  Probably in a day or two I’ll have it up on youtube.

I checked out Rush Hour 3 with dad last week.  Meh.  Chris tucker was pretty funny.  I was shocked to see so many people laugh throughout the film.  I figured the franchise was pretty much over from the reviews, but the HK audience seemed to really enjoy the flick.  I didn’t find it terrible and I didn’t find anything spectacular this time around.  The jokes still work from time to time, however the action sequences just aren’t special anymore.  It’s recycled and bland.  It’s strictly comedy.

Best part?  Most of them are in the trailer.

I’m your Brudda and I’m fly…that dope ain’t it?….errrm…almost but not quite.

Yup. You deserve hittin’ yourself in the head for a 25 mil paycheck.  It also keeps the jokes coming.  Sort of.

The other film I caught this week is Evan Almighty.  I guess the film ended doing poorly at the box office withough Jim Carrey this time.  Evan’s character is from the film Bruce almighty.  In this sort of a sequel, Evan has been given a task from God to build an Ark.  That’s all you need to know really.  You might cringe in some parts (cheesy dance), but to my suprise I was entertained.  The moral of the story is nice and animals were really well done.  More of a family film than a comedy.  The two films are different from one other, but Evan is worth checking out if your in a light hearted mood.  Bring along kids and family.

I would hate to work with so many animals on a movie set.  Who cleans the shit?

Now try dancing, fool!

In the gaming world. I’ve been caught off guard by two brilliant games.  I can only find tme to play them around midnight until with morning time. Doesn’t matter, cause one of them needs to be played with the lights off.  Scary stuff.

BIOSHOCK!  If you have a 360, do yourself a favor and get this game.  An Impressive first person shooter.  It’s being hailed as one of the best reviewed games ever for the xbox 360.

OUch…

This game is filled with creepy images and insane weapons.

The other game I’m playing is an rpg or Final Fantasy styled type game called BLUE DRAGON.  Same guy who did the designs of Dragon ball is invovled.  See the resemblance?  This game is good, but its going to take me years to complete.  Graphics are almost cartoon like.

Yup…just like final fantasy.  I can live with that.

"Son Goku, what are you doing in this game?"

Chipmunks and Evil 5?

August 13th, 2007 by eittocs

So I got friends and family here and it’s really exciting to see what everyone is up to. As some of you may know, Ryan Hui is my bro.  I’ve been busy following him and filming him for his upcoming video diary’s.  Starting in August I will continue to upload footage of shows Ryan has done with some of the artist on here.

So far the experience has been a blast.  All you guys playing in the shows are fantastic and all you fans are just so supportive.  It’s quite awesome to film everything and I’m sure I’ve got some great footage.

If you checked out Ryan’ blog you can see we did work on our dad’s video recently.  Be sure to check back, because as soon as I’m allowed, i’ll put it up on youtube for you all to see.  We both participated in a rap along side with dad with a positive message.  My first real mv and upon viewing me, your eyes might go blind (I’m not quite the looker like my bro).

Check out the guy between Ryan and I.  Wonder what he’s sayin’ on the phone?  "Wat da hell?"  You could make your own caption.

Star ferry area.  I was praying for it to rain.  It’s been so hot in Hong Kong lately.  Luckily we got some clouds…but that didn’t stop the sweat from pouring down.

Prior to that I’ve only sang with dad and bro on stage.  My passion is mostly film and gaming.

I’m a sucker for movie trailers.  Whose looking forward to some epic films coming out this year?  I was shocked when I saw the trailer for

Alvin and the chipmunks.  WOAH is all I could say. hahahaha.

Any gamers out there? I’m sure seeing alot of peeps with DS mario kart battling each other.  From the staff of the shows to the bands.  I better bring mine next time.  I pretty much grew up on games, so I’m pretty unbiased and give every console and game a chance.    The E3 show wrap up was insane.  Lots of crazy games to look forward to this year!  Did you catch the latest biohazard (residient evil) 5 trailer?

YIKES! It’s like Resident evil 4 on steroids in Africa!?!?

Mario galaxy on the wii looks like it’ll bring back some crazy childhood feelings back.  Ah, good ol’ gaming.

Voltron FTW! Mario learns to swim and skate…kinda.

So I finally got to see Transformers the other week and  what a film! Pure popcorn flick.  The effects were amazing.  The story…well, you can’t expect much, slow in some parts, but overall a fun rollercoaster ride of a movie.

    Favorite part?

The fight in the city!!  Mindblowing effects!  I had to find my jaw after that.

The car chase scene.  Just look at the eyes of that decepticon.

After watching the film, news about another robot flick was announced. Voltron!! I remember when dad bought me the full toy set when i was a kid.  I can’t wait to see how this one will turn out.  CG animation or live action mix?  I just hope they don’t go too "power ranger" style on it.  Anyway, I’ll still see it. I’m all giddy now.

Voltron the movie!!  I’m crossing my fingers for "Thundercats: the movie"…I still have the battery operated sword.

I’m still workin’ on Ryan’s next diary.  It’s more of a montage.  It’s taking me forever.  I did put up on youtube a video of Ryan, Skot, Kevin and Joseph playing at the fringe club.  Check it out:

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OhFrSxMxEA

I’ll be putting up more clips of trips to China with plenty of interviews.  So stay tuned.

Anybody get stuck here in HK’s MTR stations during the T8?  Heard it was crazy.  Prior to the storm coming I’ve been teaching my 6 month old bulldog, Mario, how to swim.

He’ll never learn since he’s so heavy, but he enjoys chillin’ on the step.

When it’s storming I try to teach him how to sk8, but he insist on eating first.

Mario exhausted.  Still trying to pull off an ollie.

Frustrated Mario eats the board.  "Patience my boy…patience."

This last weekend I chilled watching a bunch of films with my girlfriend.  We checked out Wild Hogs.  A real fun simple weekend movie about a bunch of middle-aged men going for a motoribke ride across the country.  They screw up everything along the way.

Wild Hogs.  A surprise film that is delightful and fun to watch.

The other film we watched was a Korean one titled "200 pound beauty."  I’m a sucka for fat suit films.  This one is no different.  Predictable and cliched.  What’s noteworthy is the story of a hidden backstage singer who endures plastic surgery to win a mans heart.  Well, I guess the whole plastic surgery theme is a bit creepy and  so are the songs in this film.  Its stuck in my head…"MARIAAAAAA…AVE MARRIAAA."  It only gets more creepier seeing the dvd come with a bonus feature…the same song sung in cantonese!

Before the surgery……………………………………………………and after.  I chose this shot, cause all she does after surgery is cries and then some.  Shouldn’t  we be against plastic surgery to win hearts over?

Well to finish off the weekend I bought my gf a small toy house.  She’s totally into the japanese mini food toys.  I just want to eat them.  I had no idea the room was going to be so big!  We still have two more rooms to layout.

Would you like to come over for some dinner?

The house from a peeping tom’s point of view.  Sneaky sneaky.

WOW!  I just got done watching this trailer.  I’m a huge horror fan.  So Cannot WAIT!

HALLOWEEN: The remake.  Directed by Rob Zombie.  Yea…if you haven’t checked out "the devils reject"  you should.

If your on Xbox360 live.  Make sure you check out the demo of John Woo’s Stranglehold.  You play Chow yun fat and get to dive (Matrix style) and blow the crap out of everything.  It’s mindless yet fun and over the top.  This can only mean one thing…the full game will release soon.

Shoot him the balls!  Shoot him in the balls!

Gaming has never been so fun.

  • What makes you so proud?

    March 7th, 2007 by eittocs

The song I recorded titled "Proud to be Chinese" is well on its way to being released, right here, on the web!

As it was publicly announced, MTV Asia and MTV chi will launch the song within the next coming weeks. I’ll put up the official link soon.  In the meantime think about the song title and you tell me (if your Asian) why your so proud to be Chinese!

In the meantime I’m starting to work on other tracks and may collaborate with other artists, International and local.  Also, if you haven’t seen it already, check out a local vid I did for my bro.

    Stay Proud!

    SCOTT HUI: NEW SON RISING

    March 7th, 2007 by eittocs
In Hong Kong in the late Seventies, singer-songwriter-actor Sam Hui revolutionized the bland local music scene by taking colloquial Cantonese lyrics and fused them with his love for the music of the Beatles, the Animals and the Kinks. The end product was dubbed Canto-Rock and Sam Hui became the pioneer of this musical movement, one that finally gave Hong Kong a voice and sound of its own.
With hits from movies starring Hui and his two brothers Michael and Ricky such as Games Gamblers Play, Private Eyes and the series of Aces Go Places films, Sam Hui became the Voice of mainstream Hong Kong.
Following a few reclusive years looking after Number One, Hui made a comeback about two years ago and brought his two sons, Ryan and Scott, each educated in LA, for company, and both of whom joined their father onstage for his concerts. In many ways, they were his safety valve.
Over a year ago, the elder son, Ryan, decided to make a go of by launching his own singing career by releasing an EP featuring him singing in Cantonese and English.
With his parents deciding that he and his younger brother Scott had to learn to sink or swim for himself and without trading on the Hui name and with only his gremlin younger manager to guide him, the older Hui has done everything to make a name for himself by appearing at every possible local ‘live’ gig, doing radio interviews and making numerous television appearances.
Despite all of this, Ryan Hui remains somewhat of an enigma-  a bit of an oddity whose LA-Rock-influenced music sung in Cantonese being difficult for local radio to programme- and for consumers to understand.
Make way now for Scott Hui.
With a background in film and creative arts, the youngest Hui is making himself heard with a track titled Proud To Be Chinese- or, in short, P2bC.
Written by Hans Ebert, Executive Director of EMI Music South East Asia and who wrote some of Sam Hui’s best-known English hit recordings, the track has the youngest Hui rapping about everything and everyone Chinese- the late martial arts legend Bruce Li, basketball star Yao Ming, film directors and actors such as John Woo, Wong -kar-wai, Jet Li, Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung to dim sum, kung fu and the fact that he’s proud to be who he is. To paraphrase the late great Godfather of Soul, Scott Hui re-affirms how he’s Chinese - and proud of it.
With his career at a crossroads, Scott got talking to EMI’s Ebert who explains, "I’ve known Scott since he was a kid and knew that he was creative, but was looking at ways to harness this creativity. I had the idea for a multi-media-driven concept build around the theme of Proud To Be Chinese and with a music track to launch this concept. The question was, so who should sing the song?
"After speaking and getting to know Scott all over again, I thought, ‘Yeah, why not him? The kid’s proud to be Chinese though he can’t sing in Cantonese or Mandarin, his English diction is perfect and he was game to try recording it despite having no knowledge of music theory. Most importantly, Scott has a larger-than-life personality. It’s very infectious, he’s a different kinda artist for this very image-conscious music industry and one whom I believe will connect with today’s consumers."
With the backing tracks done in Singapore by The Sonic Room and the vocals recorded in Hong Kong at Schtung Studios, the sessions became a creative match of give-and-take.
"Everyone from Hans to the guys in the studio gave me the chance to make or break it," adds Scott. "We did the Raps in a few takes and the recording session was fun- and I hope that this comes through. Pride is a serious matter, but I feel we tempered this pride with some humour. Life’s too short to be taken seriously- no matter what one’s nationality is."
With upcoming support from MTV plus interest in Scott Hui from a range of advertisers regarding endorsement deals and interest in the track being used as mobile content and as part of synch deals, P2bC, scheduled for release in March, looks like being a sleeper of a hit that has come out of nowhere- and with it, a new artist.
Adds Ebert, "The track is timely and the concept has universal appeal. After all, depending on who we are, we can be proud to be French, Italian, Australian- whatever. And with the upcoming Olympics coming up, what better theme?"
With Ebert planning Remixes of the tracks, with a Mandarin version of the song sung by the mysterious Mahjong, writing new material for him, working on future collaborations with some International artists and Scott to perform the song ‘live’ when his father starts off his next round of concerts, Scott Hui’s talking about his generation in his own style and just might replicate the success his father had with the rule-bending Canto-Rock.
If not, he’s given it a darn good try.

    New Project Happening!

    February 26th, 2007 by eittocs

What’s up everybody?  It’s the start of the Chinese New Year and what a way to start with a bang.

A new project is about to unfold.  A few months ago I sat with a man named Hans Ebert, he’s on my friends list if you’d like to see more details, who came up with a concept of a song.

After hours and days of chit chat, I recorded the song with Hans at Schtung Music.   The results was a fast, fun and enjoyable session with the help from Morton Wilson, Anne Young, and Tung the engineer.

The song is titled "Proud to be Chinese (P2BC)"  The idea is to reach out to the Asian community like an Anthem and just remind ourselves to be proud of who we are.  The style is a mix of linkin-park/hiphop/something fun. It also mentions icons from Asia (bruce lee, Maggie Q) and of course the food!

The song is making its rounds right now.  MTV asia and MTVChi will launch the song shortly.  Feedback has been real positive.  I’m currently working on follow-ups for the song.  An album maybe? You’ll have to wait and see.

I’ll post up the song soon.  Until then, check back and I’ll keep all y’all updated.
